Create your first post

Walk through the Create tab — picking platforms, adding photos, writing a caption with AI help, and choosing when it goes live.

The Create tab is where you make a post manually. (If you’re on a plan with auto-posting, most of your posts will already be drafted for you in the Posts tab — but every account can create from scratch here.)

The five sections of a new post

  1. Platforms. Tick the channels you want to publish to. You can cross-post to Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and Google Business in a single click; the caption is adapted for each.
  2. Media. Drop in a photo or video, or pick from your library. For Instagram Reels and TikTok, vertical video (9:16) works best; for feed posts, square (1:1) is safe across every platform.
  3. Caption. Type your own, or click Draft with AI to get a starting point. The AI uses your tone of voice and the photo (yes, it actually looks at the photo).
  4. Hashtags & mentions. Optional — Scroll Ready suggests a small, relevant set based on your industry and location rather than a wall of 30.
  5. When. Choose Publish now, Pick a time, or Add to queue. The queue uses your best-performing slots; pick a time is for tying a post to a specific event.

Saving as a draft

Anything you start in Create is saved automatically. Close the tab and come back — you’ll find it in Drafts at the top of the Create tab.

Cross-platform gotchas

  • TikTok requires either a video or at least one photo in a carousel — plain text posts can’t be published there.
  • Google Business posts have a 1,500-character limit and don’t support hashtags. Scroll Ready strips them for you.
